Beyond the classroom, our students have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of school-sponsored activities.
Our academic program is further enriched by extracurricular programs and experiences.
Broadway currently offers the following academics for scholars: ELA, Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Spanish, iRead, Moby Max, REV, and an Interactive Science Lab.
Field trips offer a chance for students to learn outside the classroom. Field trips are provided over the course of the school year. Information regarding type of trips, times and location will be provided to the parents by classroom teachers and administration.
Field trips throughout the Greater Cleveland Area have included:
Cuyahoga Valley Railroad, Great Lakes Science Center, Dolloff Playground, Children’s Museum, Natural History Museum, Cleveland Zoo, Lake Farm Park, Cleveland Museum of Art, Playhouse Square, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Cleveland Cavaliers Games at Quicken Loans Arena

African American Museum & Motown- Detroit, Michigan
Carnegie Science Center- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

COSI Science Center- Columbus,Ohio
Fine Arts activities offered to scholars include: Dance, Visual Arts, Drama & Vocal
Music during the academic day, and Day & Evening Performances.
Current student activities include: Academic Awards Program, Before School Tutoring, Intramural Sports, All Holiday Dances, Attendance & Academic Incentives, STARS Leadership Council, Physical Education, and Fall & Spring Jr. Olympics.
Broadway involves Parents throughout the year in several ways. Parents are invited to a Monthly Breakfast, Mother/Son Superhero Dance, Daddy/Daughter Princess Dance, Evening Family Holiday Dances, Broadway Parent Council, Moms & Dads, Good TimIII Parent Lunch Cruise, Family Incentives, and more.
Broadway Academy offers Social-Emotional Services to all of their scholars. Currently, these include: Special Education Service, Murtis Taylor Counseling Services, Ohio Guidestone Counseling Services, School Psychologist & ESL Services, Speech & Hearing Services, Lunch Lessons with Staff, and Broadway Brilliance.
We take pride in our school culture and enjoy showcasing this pride in every way possible by incorporating all school morning sessions, creating a school Creed & Song, implementing a daily dress code and no bullying policy, believing in old school values, having respect for our scholars, staff, & school, making sure our environment is safe & secure, and celebrating Black History events throughout the year.
CMSD residents: Students in grades K-5 living 1-5 miles from Broadway Academy may benefit from free bus transportation provided by Community Bus Services. Families must apply for this service by filling out the Transportation Request Form and turning it in to the School Office. If you are trying to locate a bus en route, please contact 440-337-4376.
Free Breakfast and Lunch
Healthy bodies fuel healthy minds! All students are eligible for free breakfast and free lunch each school day as part of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. Each healthy meal prepared includes protein, fruits, vegetables, whole grain products, and milk.
